NICHOLAS BOATWRIGHT | Director of ELEMENTARY TRAINING
Mr. Boatwright worked as an instructional coach for a large school district in South Carolina before joining the Sposato team. Prior to moving up north for graduate school, he was a Teach for America Corps Member and new teacher coach in Atlanta and South Carolina. Mr. Boatwright holds an M.Ed in Learning and Teaching from Harvard GSE, and a B.S. in Biology from College of Charleston.
MICHELLE KALAW | DIRECTOR OF CLASSROOM CULTURE
Ms. Kalaw began her career as a teaching fellow with Citizen Schools Boston, working at McCormack Middle School in Dorchester, MA. She then worked as a resource teacher and a life skills teacher in the Peace Corps, serving in southern Africa. Prior to joining Sposato, Ms. Kalaw taught upper elementary and middle school science for five years at Ascend Charter School and Success Academy in New York. She holds a B.A. in Biology and Sociology from Columbia University and a Master's in Education from Lesley University.
Clara Kang | Director of Operations
Ms. Kang worked as a Match Corps tutor at Match Community Day School before joining the Sposato team full time. Prior to moving to Boston and joining Match, she taught 5th grade English as a Foreign Language as a Fulbright English teacher in Gwangju, South Korea. She has a B.A. from Haverford College.
Elena Luna | Director of Partnerships
Prior to joining the Sposato team, Ms. Luna worked at ACE Charter School in San Jose, CA as Principal and before that, served as a national award-winning teacher and Principal at KIPP Adelante, a charter middle school in San Diego. Ms. Luna received her B.A. from San Diego State University and her Master of Arts in Social Sciences in Education from Stanford University.
Laura Mahajan | Director of Coaching
Prior to her role in designing the Sposato program, Ms. Mahajan was a Social Studies teacher in the KIPP middle school in Harlem, NY. She began her career as a Match Corps tutor, and holds her Master of Arts in Teaching from Teachers College at Columbia University, and an A.B. from Princeton University.
Scott McCue | DEAN
Mr. McCue worked as founding Head at Boston Preparatory Charter Public School, from 2002-2012. Before founding BPCPS, he taught History at the Academy of the Pacific Rim Charter School and in the New York City Public Schools. He has a Master of Arts in Teaching from Teachers College at Columbia University and A.B. from Harvard University.
Dana SALVIA | Director of elementary training
Ms. Salvia has been working in urban education for 10 years, and began her career in 2006 as a middle school math teacher in Maryland. She went on to teach for the Academy of the Pacific Rim, a no-excuses charter school in Hyde Park, MA for six years. After earning her Master's in Educational Leadership from Simmons College, Ms. Salvia transitioned to a founding Dean of Curriculum role at UP Academy Dorchester. After three years in education turnaround, Ms. Salvia joined the Sposato team as Director of Elementary Training.
Christine Schepeler | Director of Math and Science Training
Ms. Schepeler worked as a Science Teacher at Boston Collegiate Charter School and as an Sposato coach before joining the Sposato team full-time. Prior to working at BCCS, Ms. Schepeler taught Math and Science as a TFA Corps Member in Phoenix, AZ. She has a Master's Degree in Education from Arizona State University, and a B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Whitney Schultz | Director of Elementary Training
Before joining the Sposato team, Ms. Schultz worked as a founding Dean of Curriculum and Instruction at UP Academy Dorchester. She began her teaching career with TFA in New York City, and has since worked as the Coordinator of Alumni Affairs for TFA and as a teacher and special education coordinator in the Edward Brooke Charter School network. Ms. Schultz holds a B.A. from Princeton University and a Master's in Special Education from Pace University.
NEAL TEAGUE | Director of HUMANITIES Training
Prior to joining the Sposato team, Neal taught History and led the History Department at UP Academy Boston. Before that, he worked as a history teacher and Dean of Students at Williamsburg Collegiate Charter School in Brooklyn, NY. He started his career teaching history at Charlestown High School in Boston. In his roles at Match, Neal has led the Teacher Launch Project and worked with Match Export to deliver Best Practice Professional Development to teachers and leaders across the country.
